We are on week #5, At Christmas Card Challenges, and this time the challenge is to use paint.

 

I used watercolors for my little winter scene. If you look closely you will see a little bunny rabbit peeking out behind the tree. :)

Christmas Card Challenges #4

Can you believe that Christmas Eve is tomorrow?  Hope you will get a chance to use your new  crafty items that Santa Brought you on our Jingle Bells challenge this week. Please keep in mind that all challenges are optional. The only real rule is that you must create a new Christmas Holiday, Winter or Hanukkah card. Also, it is not necessary to use a SCRS stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Sunshine Mail Design Team Call

 

 As most of you know, Card Cupids is now Called Sunshine Mail. To help generate more cards for our cause, spread smiles to children with health issues, and those in homeless shelters,we have announced a DT call.

We are looking for Card Designers to join our Caring, and Creative Design Team.
*Our MOST IMPORTANT requirement is sending in cards! There is no minimum.
*Promote Sunshine Mail on your blog, and encourage participation
*Create a card with an image from our generous sponsors
*You can choose to participate either once or twice a month
*This is for a 6 month term

Christmas Card Challenges #3

 

 So for this week the challenge involves doilies. I had some lace ribbon that looked like a doily. I used it for the background by laying it on the paper and spritzing it with red ink.

 

I hope you get a chance to stop by CCC  and show us your Christmas card. Remember you don't have to do the challenge, just make sure its a new Christmas Holiday, Winter or Hanukkah card.

Unscripted Sketches #189+ piggy back

It's that time again for the piggy back challenge. This time it is to do something to or with the circle. Alter it somehow- distress it, tear it, layer it, etc. Make the circle a unique focal point!

 

I made my circle into a cute snowman. I got this fun idea from a friend who sent me a snowman tag just like this one. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the sketch for this week.

Cool images and a New Name for Card Cupids

The nonprofit, Card Cupids announces on its two year anniversary, its new name: Sunshine Mail Foundation. The Virginia based non-profit which began in November 2010 is changing its name to better reflect its mission of brightening the day of children in need.
“We began by providing cards and stuffed animals to a few children in hospitals but over time we have expanded to providing care essentials and age appropriate items to children in homeless shelters, foster care, hospitals and children facing medical challenges. We believe the name, Sunshine Mail Foundation, better reflects all of the services that we provide to children” says Stephanie Busby, Executive Director.
In 2013, Sunshine Mail Foundation has set a goal to reach more children in homeless shelters with their Sunshine Mail care packages that provide comfort, support and joy through care essentials and other age appropriate items.
Sunshine Mail Foundation supports numerous children’s hospitals and family shelters nationwide along with countless children in foster care and children facing medical challenges. For more information and to get involved, please visit www.sunshinemail.org.

Christmas Card Challenges 2013

Greetings!!

Welcome to the first Christmas Card Challenge of 2013!  Here we go again!  We continue to be blessed with your participation, and are thankful to each of you who are able to play along with us.  Let's get started, shall we?

Our first challenge is a Sketch. Please keep in mind that all challenges are optional. The only real rule is that you must create a new Christmas Holiday, Winter or Hanukkah card. Also, it is not necessary to use a SCRS stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do! 

We're continuing on with the first challenge of each month being a prize week.  Up for grabs is an adorable SCRS stamp!
