Halloween Care package

I sent a care package full of fun Halloween candy to my daughter at college. I'd forgotten to take pictures of it before I sent it, so my daughter took them for me.

None of these ideas are new but It's always nice to add a personal touch to make a great presentation.
All I did to jazz things up was use  some paper scraps and made little packages out of it to fill with smaller candy. I crimped the edges and slapped on a label. The labels were already made and came in The 6x6 Tricks and Treats paper pad from Pebbles.
For the "twisted sweets" I put a belly band around a bunch of licorice with a label.

It's all about the label. LOL

This is the perfect touch to any last minute goodies you need to give.
Have a Happy Halloween :) and Happy crafting :)

Witches Hat

Only 2 days left until Halloween. I've got my Witches hat  all ready to go.

This was another project that my sister wanted me to make for her and again I had a blast making it.
The fringe around the hat was made out of scraps of paper from The Authentique Glowing collection.

On the chipboard tag I used a Halloween rub on I got along time ago. It was perfect for this project.

The tag is attached to a black medallion I made and I also glued a cut out flower to it. I added ribbon and tulle for a fancier look and of course The Hat pin adds a nice touch.

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween.
Happy crafting :)

If the Shoe fits

I made this awesome witches boot/shoe for my sister and it turned out so cute that I had to make one for myself. It's been awhile since I've done a wood craft and I had a blast making it.
My sister made the vinyl sign which made it tie all in.  I love it!!!

I used a bunch of different ribbons to make it more fancy.

And of course you have to have a spider dangling from the heal. LOL

Unscripted Sketches # 226

Welcome to Sketch it Saturdays at Unscripted Sketches!
Here is the new sketch for the week.

Like last week's card, I've been having a great time using the wonderful French country papers from Graphic 45. I can't stop making cards with this gorgeous paper. I will be using this yummy collection for  plenty more cards to come.  As you can see I didn't follow the sketch to the letter, but rather used some of the elements to inspire my creation.  That's the great thing about sketches they get you pointed in the right direction and then you can use your artistic license to make it your own.

 Here's my card.

Hope you will join us and make a wonderful card from this great sketch.
Happy Card Making :)

WCMD Blog hop

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I'm excited to be participating in this wonderful blog hop for World Card Making Day and Operation Write Home.

WCDstart

About OWH (Operation Write Home)

This merry band of thousands of card makers is made up of Americans – and citizens of other nations too – who care about our military, and want to support them through creativity and encouragement. Many thousands of crafters of all ages and levels of experience have participated since 2007!
Care packages filled with hundreds of handmade cards are sent to our contacts, restocking every 6-8 weeks, and are sent in time for the long journey back home to loved ones. Each box is packed with great care, alternating styles, colors, and cardmakers from all over the USA, creating “eye candy” for heroes who see only khaki around them. The topper on each box is a plastic bag filled with 20-30 letters from adults and children across the country, letters handed out especially to those in need of a positive word from the homefront.
Boxes are shipped through every week of the year, so join us anytime in sending your beautiful creations to help our heroes keep in touch with home!

For this hop we were asked to make a Thank you card using one of the many Sketches that are available on the blog. I chose to use Sketch #190

 190 Sketch (Sept 15) (1)

Here's how my card turned out.

I stamped the bird onto the background paper and paper pieced it to make the bird stand out a little better.

I hope you are having fun and getting inspired from all the great cards that were made for this hop. There are so many awesome card makers out there and I'm proud to be a part of this wonderful group.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  Enjoy the rest of your day.
Happy Card Making :)
